Art Association in Roxbury December Meeting and Watercolor Painting Demonstration

The Art Association in Roxbury will be holding its monthly meeting on Thursday, December 3rd at 7:15 PM at the Roxbury Senior Center, 72 Eyland Avenue, Succasunna, NJ.

We are pleased to have Thomas Valenti (www.thomasvalenti.com) for our program.  Valenti will give a watercolor-landscape demonstration in which he will stress the importance of and the use of tonal values.

Valenti is President of Allied Artists of America in NYC, an Honorary Member of The Salmagundi Club in NYC, and he is listed in “Who's Who in American Art”. He is also the author of “The Tonal Technique to Watercolor Painting”, an article which appeared in The Artist's Magazine.

Valenti is the recipient of countless major awards in National and International Juried Competitions. A few of those awards are: Traveling Exhibition – American Watercolor Society, First Place Award – Salmagundi Club Juried Members Exhibition, Best-In-Show – St Mark's 29th Annual Exhibition, Mendham NJ, and ArtKudos.com online International Exhibition.

He exhibits his work regularly, including the 2008 The Artist’s Magazine 25th Annual Competition and the Allied Artists of America Invitational NJ Watercolor Society Show at the Salmagundi Club. Valenti’s art work is in numerous private collections all over the world. His work was featured in the January 2007 issue of “American Artist Magazine”. The article, written by M. Stephen Doherty, Editor-In-Chief of the magazine, describes Valenti’s versatility in working in both oil and watercolor paints.

Valenti graduated from the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art as a Fine Art major but is for the most part self-taught. He teaches at the Ridgewood Community School. He also conducts watercolor workshops and is sought after as a juror for many major art competitions. His inspiration and motivation comes from his belief that beauty is everywhere and in everything.

The program is open to everyone. Admission is free and refreshments are served.  For further information, please call (973) 398-6304.
